- Description of Legal Practice:
Mr. Harris's legal practice focuses on civil litigation which involves providing legal representation for individuals and businesses in court, arbitration or mediation. Mr. Harris's practice includes commercial business cases and construction cases for both the individual and for small and large businesses. Included in that practice is recovery using mechanic's liens as well as Public Works claims when dealing with a public entity. Part of Mr. Harris's practice includes a general civil practice of small business representation, real property transactions which include the buying and selling residential properties, and acquisition and sale of commercial properties. In the course of representing businesses and individuals, Mr. Harris has experience in representing creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, including defense of bankruptcy adversary actions (actions brought while a debtor is in bankruptcy).
Employment History:
Mr. Harris was admitted to practice in the State of Florida in October of 1980. He shortly thereafter moved to Boulder Colorado where he became licensed in November of 1981. After working for 4 years with a Boulder firm, he moved out on his own as a sole practitioner for 4 1/2 years. In August of 1990, Mr. Harris merged his practice with the firm of Thorvilson, Osgood and Simpson. In January of 1993, the firm name changed to Osgood, Simpson and Harris, a partnership, and later changed to Osgood, Simpson and Harris, L.L.C. (limited liability company). On June 1, 1999, the firm was renamed Osgood and Harris, LLC with the departure of Andrew J. Simpson from the firm.

- Defense of a subcontractor relating to the large concrete parking structures (8 day arbitration hearing)
- Suit against developer for faulty roads in a condominium complexes
- Negligence claims for construction of office buildings and sizeable homes in Boulder County
- Mechanic's liens cases from both claimants' and owners' perspectives (one shopping center with $1.2 million in liens filed)
- Creditor claims in bankruptcy; involving a multitude of litigation over the course of two years relating to bankruptcy fraud and abuse of bankruptcy system.
Real Estate:
- Representing sellers of homes through Realtors or "for sale by owner"

- Real property litigation relating to fence line disputes and adverse possession claims
